CPA John Ogallo is a Commissioner with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), having been appointed to this position in August 2022. Mr. Ogallo is Public Financial Management (PFM) expert with extensive global experience in Governance and Institutional Building. He has worked for several years at the World Bank in Washington DC; and has expertise in Financial Management and Governance. He is familiar with governance challenges facing low and middle-income countries; and has supported public institutions in several countries in Africa, South Asia, Europe and Central Asia to implement interventions to manage risks and performance and principles of good governance through public financial management reforms and institutional capacity building. He has wide experience in financial management for development; and has led teams to provide technical assistance to strengthen institutions of accountability; and undertake fiduciary due diligence, advisory services and analytics. Prior to joining the World Bank in 1997 Mr. Ogallo worked for several years in the private and public sectors in Kenya in various technical and managerial capacities. He has also undertaken international consultancy assignments, including with the African Development Bank, to strengthen public administration and public finance management systems. Commissioner John Ogallo is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K), and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Sheffield (UK), and Post-Graduate Diploma in Public Financial Management from the University of London. He has knowledge of and professional interest in Corporate Governance and Decentralization and Local Governance. As an ordained Pastor Mr. Ogallo is a strong believer in the principles of fairness, good governance – integrity, commitment to ethical values, respect for the rule of law and a just society.
